 After performing for millions on New Year’s Eve in Copacabana, João Gomes arrives at Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival to perform at the renowned Nosso Camarote. His show coincides with the opening night of the Special Group parades, featuring schools such as Acadêmicos de Niterói, Imperatriz, Portela, and Mangueira.

 The Pernambuco-born artist proudly said he brings “a little piece of Pernambuco wherever I go.” For João, Carnival represents emotion, unity, and the power of connection through music.

Energetic shows and Brazilian soul

 Gomes promises an energetic performance filled with joy and surprises, blending his forró roots with Carnival rhythms. “No way I’ll skip ‘Meu Pedaço de Pecado’ or ‘Dengo’. Carnival means intensity — I want everyone to sing, dance, and feel part of it,” he said.

 He also revealed his dream of one day parading at Sapucaí, describing it as an incomparable thrill: “It would be an honor to feel that energy up close,” he shared with excitement.
